One of my friends, who happens to also be an eye doctor, got fired from his job. Not that Jeff is shedding any tears over it. In fact he was looking to quit in a couple of months anyways. He works in a fast paced commercial practice, which is not conducive for the most professional of experiences. And so his timetable is on the fast track to Vancouver. Back to where there is family & friends. It's gonna be a long trip from Minneapolis to Vancouver, but that's a road trip I would gladly tag along on if I had time to spare (that's not accounted for).
And there is also a sense of deja vu, Jeff's situation is quite reminiscent of my predicament of a year ago. That's right it's been a year since I left my place of former employment. My personal hell on earth. Hmmm. . . working in a uncomfortable environment where you don't want to show up, planning an exit strategy and having it accelerated due to an earlier than predicted departure. Vaguely familiar. In the end it will be better for him to move on, just as it has for me.
