i've been in the process of looking to purchase a house for about a couple of months now. and if you know me, it's not gonna be a quick process. i'll look at a house and find one annoyance, and that would put enough doubt in my head to put me on pause. if you know how i do my christmas shopping, than just imagine it ten times worst.
in the mean time, my lease on the apartment i've been living in for the past 3 years ends at the end of the month. quite the predicament. my options were to extend my lease on a month to month basis at the apartment or move in with my friend, derrick. each with their pros & cons. the bad thing about staying at my apartment would be the fact rent would be much much higher for a month to month situation than my 1 year lease. in fact it would have gone from $645 to $795 a month. Yikes! though i wouldn't have to make multiple moves. yeah like i thought, that's not enough of a pro to make me stay.
moving into derrick's house was his idea, and to be honest it caught me by surprise when he offered. i guess i shouldn't be, but it's gratifying to have a friend like that around. even so i still had trepidation with moving in with him & his girlfriend, holly. it has nothing to do with them personally.oh gosh no! it's just the fact i haven't had to live with another person for the past 5 years, and now i'm living with my friend and his girlfriend. interesting don't you think?
well the apartment thing sorted itself out actually. they found someone to move into my place and i am now mostly moved in at derrick's place. the major stuff has been moved. my desk which is one of the more important pieces of furniture, i moved myself. the couch that has been in my family for more than 15 years, derrick helped move. and andrew assisted me with my crappy twin bed that predates the jurassic era. or close enough. weird how the situation turned out so easily. now all i have is the minor stuff of life. clothes, food, etc. . .
did i mention i hate moving?
