9/11, 8 years later

this past friday marked the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in nyc. this was the first time in many years i actually watched news footage of the days events. as the years go by my recollection fades a little. the magnitude of the moment dims. i was thankful to be reminded of the tragedy. not in a morbid way, but there are certain events in our lives which should not be forgotten or allowed to be diminished in value.

it reminded me of the cruelty humans can inflict on one another, in the name of one's beliefs. God's name has often been used by men to justify their actions. my mind is too feeble to understand all if any of his workings, but i cannot help but wonder sometimes if God cries. not out of disbelief, for if anyone should know our capacity it would be our maker. but because of the bad choices we make and the justification we use.

God is forgiving that much i have to believe, but i wonder sometimes if God cries. I have.
