on a butterfly's wing

we often pray for many different reasons. for our desired results mostly. these results are suppose to be God's thunderous answer to our prayers. and that is why most people are disappointed with their prayers. they cannot hear the thunder for which they seek.

the importance of prayer is not in seeking the answer to our request, but just in our conversation with God. in that most intimate of moments when we should be most attentive, God whispers to us. so in waiting for the thunder to be heard for our wants, we miss out on the whisper of the present.

How often is it that we just enjoy having a conversation with someone we love, and nothing more?
