Hard to imagine how this president was able to survive such an onslaught of negative energies and circumstances in the past few months. But he did, with supporters of the social conservative ideology and policies. For all the anti-Bush sentiment that wanted George Bush ousted from political power, in the end John Kerry could not provide enough of an alternative and palatable vision for the country to have a strong pro-Kerry contingent.

Now America is at a crossroads for the heart and soul of the country. As a people we are still quite divided, only more poignantly illustrated by the news media between blue and red states of the election. On one side we have those who believe in the absolute sanctity of life and marriage. And on the other side of the ever-growing chasm are the proponents of individual choice and tolerance. There seems to be little wiggle room on these social matters for either side, and in some regards it is a moral civial war that divides this great republic.
