while living in bryan/college station the first time around, there was a lake i never heard of. oh yes i'm quite serious. it's a man made lake that the elders of the community at the time tried not to put too much thought into naming. and hence lake bryan came into existence.
i have now lived in this town for a total of 9 years and just the other week was the first time i venture forth on this grand watery oasis. a friend of a friend of a friend (yes it get's complicated sometimes) just recently moved into town. he goes by crow. now he has no place to live but he has a boat. well truthfully he does have a place to stay. he lives with his friend rey & kim. and the sofa is his bed. but it still seems funny to me for someone to have a nice boat and no real place to call home. but that is crow for now.
i come from a long line of boat people. yes i do. but that doesn't mean i have tons of experience with boats. for that matter. i've only been on a recreational boat once i believe prior to these more recent experiences. and that was some good times too.
and as impractical as they may be, having a boat is all about having a blast. spending time with good friends doing silly stuff. i'm sure glad crow does have a boat indeed. he, rey, derrick & i have had tons of fun and a chance to relax on these last remaining days of summer. i've even taken the liberties of closing down the office a couple of afternoons to enjoy the opportunity presented to me. and i'm sure we're gonna try to fit in a few more trips before the cool weather sets in.
